Purpose of the course

After completing the training, you will be able to:

  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of the Work Controller in the operation and maintenance of electrical installations.
  • Describe the skills needed to act as a Work Controller.
  • Describe the other roles that should exist and how they interact, such as owner, installation manager, operations controller, line manager, professional, instructed and layman.
  • Describe the process for risk assessment, risk management and electrical safety planning before work begins.
  • Carry out risk assessments and risk management and take the necessary protective measures in connection with work where there may be an electrical hazard.
  • Describe what knowledge and experience are needed for the different roles.
  • If you are a manager, appoint those who meet the knowledge and experience requirements to act as Work Controller.
